SOUTHERN REFLECTIONS – Change We Can Belive In

Well My Friend Mike from North Carolina has some pretty good thoughts:

Talk about “change that we can believe in”, President George W. Obama has just announced that he is sending another 17,000 troops to Afghanistan. For what ? Why deploy troops to places like Iraq and Afghanistan in the first place. The U.S. has the capability to monitor and punish any developments or actions that are a threat to us … From The Air. Military occupations, like those in Iraq and Afghanistan, must be for some purpose other than defending our national interest. Among possible objectives is the re-building of these nations according to the blueprints of wannabe world rulers. Iraq and Afghanistan have never been  democracies, much less stable ones.
And, who wants a democracy anyway ? …”and to the Republic for which it stands”.

And now, for some good news. The Obama administration is having to delay any serious work on socializing our energy programs until the end of the year while they work out of the financial crisis. Judging from the direction in which they are heading with the nation’s finances, we just might dodge this bullets during his first term.

Of the ten worse states, financially, every one but Florida has a democratic controlled legislature. The only state, out of this bottom ten with a Republican Governor is California …and that is questionable. Most refer to Arnold as a RINO (Republican In Name Only). After listening to Arnold rant on about the “stimulus package”, I have concluded that he is a SINO (Socialist In Name Only). We are back to that “Blue state vs. Red state” thing again. The Blue States have the highest tax rates and yet, they are the deepest in debt. Even a southern state like North Carolina, with a long-held democratic legislature and democrat governor (we were overrun by carpetbaggers and scalawags) is in debt up to it’s eyes. Our new “lady governor”, a carpetbagger was in office less than two weeks when she went to Washington with her hand out and then went on a vacation. (I’m not making this stuff up!) The said vacation was reported to be Cancun, Mexico. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

The amendment in the stimulus bill calling for a buy American policy is a good idea. An amendment calling for a buy non-union American policy would be a better idea. Now, to grow in right-to-work states, the unions want something called cardcheck. It would be nice for this bill to include an amendment prohibiting public employees from being represented by any union not originated and based in the state of said public employees.  And, what about union employees being able to de-certify a union with the same cardcheck method? Turnabout is fair play, isn’t it? Better still, would be a state resolution nullifying any card check law that the Congress passes. Its been done before. With the re-newed interest in the ninth and tenth amendments, now just might be the time to strike such a blow for Liberty.

And finally, the current administration is having to backtrack and lie at every turn to sell their stimulus packages to the American people. The newly appointed White House spokesman has had to hire someone to walk in front of him opening doors. It seems that before he can get close enough to open his own door, his nose has already hit the door. One of their biggest lies is that forecolsure hurts every American homeowner. false …it doesn’t hurt me at all. Since I purchased my home for a residence, not an inflation dependent investment, and have no intention of moving, the rise and fall of my neighbor’s home value is of no interest to me. We don’t live crammed so close together that his business automatically becomes mine

If there is a solution to government generated problems, its gotta be  ”southern”.
