[h/t] Drudge Report
Obviously being a relatively unknown on the National scene, I am going to have to be cautious at this point, but it looks like I might have to kick Alan Keyes to the curb. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin on the surface seems to be every conservatives dream. With McCain’s age, it is realistic that this woman could ascend to the Presidency in short order, but at the very least would be positioned well to run in 2012 for the Presidency.
She is definitely not a Hillary Clinton, but I think she has more in common with many more American women. Her husband strikes me as a lumberjack in a suit, a real man’s man. Certainly the type to knock the shit out of anyone kissing his wife on the lips.

I hope McCain doesn’t kiss her!
Perhaps a tad under-qualified to potentially be President of United States?
[...] Blue Collar Republican- “I like her.” [...]
I agree Ken, Obama has absolutely no executive experience and has spent his time in the United States Senate running for President. Why would anyone vote for such an inexperienced candidate for President?
Up your sorry ASS Romney!
Does it make Obama look bad that the opposition candidate for VP has more executive experience the him and Biden combined?
I would say that as the Mayor of a city with a population of 9,000 (let alone governor) Palin has more executive experience than both of those clowns combined.
Then again, someone who was elected dog-catcher would have more experience. At least a dog-catcher is charged with public safety.
I like her too, by the way– I want to hear what you (and others here) have to say about the issue of qualification, not call anyone names.
It was a smart move on McCain’s part.
Well then Ken, you came to the wrong place bubba. Now I’m just as capable of nice intelligent discussion of the issues when I feel like it, but BCR is not about that. This is a working class hangout and we discuss the issues in terms that working class folk feel free to speak their minds openly.
There is no “issue”. Her lack of Beltway experience is an ASSET and one of the reasons I like her. However, she has ample executive experience which means she knows how to select capable people to handle specific jobs. A CEO does not need to know anything about manufacturing widgets. He or she only needs to be able to hire an expert in making widgets and giving that individual the resources necessary to make widgets. An executive (or a President), builds an organization to get things done and then is accountable to the stockholders (or voters) for that organization.
I have a lot more to learn about Palin, but I like what I see so far. I think McCain nominated her because he knew he was in trouble with his “base” and in the hopes that he would be able to reach out to blue collar types (especially women). I doubt seriously if his heart is in it, but at least he acknowledged that he needs us by selecting Palin.
OK, I meant and should have said “I didn’t come here to call Palin names.” Thanks for the response– and speaking your mind.
