No, the man who got the schoolyard fat lip was Ahmed Hashim Abed, the same man the U.S. government suspects planned the ambush, murder, and mutilation of four U.S. civilian contractors in Fallujah, Iraq in 2004. This is no way to win a war folks, prosecuting those we should be pinning medals on. We are asking our soldiers to be cops. Short memories people, handling terrorism like a law enforcement issue is what led to 9/11. Now here we are reverting back to the same thing that got us here in the first place. George Bush was right, it is going to take a mushroom cloud over a major US city before people wake up and come to grips with what we are facing.
I saw on TV/read somewhere where the SEALS were at first going to receive Article 15′s or some other lesser punishment for their actions. They opted for a courts martial so that the truth would be known. This whole debacle most certainly reflects total ignorance of the SEALs mission and what it means to fight a war. But it also reflects a lack of leadership. The superior officers should never have allowed this to happen to their men. These SEALS were sold out to political correctness. If this keeps happening to our military one day soon we will see that mushroom cloud.
Our SEALS and Special Forces are the most professional folks on the planet. They protect us from the REAL BAD Guys. Our country has lost its way and I hope it is not too late to get back on the right path.
