Making of America seminar – Southaven MS

There will be a special workshop in Southaven, MS,  next Saturday, August 23rd, that Dirk would like to invite you.  The seminar is titled “The Making of America” and will be presented by Dr. Earl Taylor, President of the National Center for Constitutional Studies, who has graciously agreed to fly out from Phoenix to teach the seminar for us.

The material is based on the book “The Making of America” by Dr. W. Cleon Skousen, who worked as a special agent in the FBI for over 15 years, as well as Administrative Assistant to J. Edgar Hoover, he was the editor for “Law and Order” magazine for 15 years, worked as Chief of Police in Salt Lake City for a number of years, was Field Director for the American Security Council, University Professor, was appointed by the Reagan Administration to the Council for National Policy, he published over 15 books, and was founder of the National Center for Constitutional Studies.  (http://www.xmission.com/~nccs/newsletter/feb06nl.html)

Here’s a link to the National Center for Constitutional Studies website: www.nccs.net, and a link to info about this seminar: http://www.nccs.net/seminars/index.html  I’d recommend checking that link out.

This is an excellent seminar that has been taught all over the nation and internationally, and was originally designed as a course for Congressmen and their office staff.  We will focus on the founders of our nation, their backgrounds, personalities, and ways of thinking, and the US Constitution and the intent of the founders.  This is a completely non-partisan seminar…only dealing with the founders and the precious document they penned.

The $15 individual or $35 family fee for participation covers your day-long class, a 135-page study guide, and will also somehow cover my cost for Dr. Taylor’s flight, lodging, and car from Arizona to teach this workshop.  You may come and go as you need if you are concerned about not being able to commit to the entire time.  The important part is that we have at least 50 people commit and pay so we can have the seminar, and won’t have to cancel due to insufficient participation.  I am also able to provide the class materials for those who cannot make the event for $10, I’ll just need to know as soon as possible.

Details:

When:  Saturday, 23 August, 9:00-5:00
Where: the large private room of the Grand Buffet on Goodman Rd. between Target and Home Depot.  Cost for food will be $6.50 for adults and $3.99 for children.

Seminar Schedule
(with intermittent breaks)
8:30am-11:30am – “Developing America’s Great
Success Formula”
This is the exciting exploration which Jefferson,
Adams, Franklin, Washington and others made in
order to rediscover the key to the creation of the
first free nation in modern times. We’ll trace their
adventure from 1400 B.C. to A.D. 1787
12:00-12:45pm – Lunch break
12:45pm-4:30pm – “The Perfect Plan of Liberty”
A refreshing look at the solid political and
economic principles from the preamble through
the amendments to the Constitution. You’ll learn
perhaps for the first time, how nearly every
problem in America today can be solved by
restoring these successful concepts.

Your family will see, hear, and learn with exciting, unforgettable stories, and fill-in-the-blank
study guides – all developed by a master teacher, Dr. W. Cleon Skousen
