Loading ...Marsha Blackburn is well on her way to defeating Tom Leatherwood. Tom made a decent showing, but just could not get over the NEO-CON hump that is TN’s 7th District. The 7th District being loaded with neo-cons such as Jim Coley, Ron Lollar, Curry Todd, Delores Gresham and the like will be difficult for anyone to beat. It also speaks poorly of the intelligence of the 7th District voter.
We are also witnessing the downfall of the Republicans in Shelby County. Chris Turner and Bill Gianinni losing their races was a slap to the face of the Republican party in Shelby County. The suburban areas will not see these types of losses until the demographic changes more than it already has. Stamson and Stamson really need to have a back-up plan in place for 2010 because I doubt very seriously either will occupy the office they hold currently.
