Civil War? #tcot #iamthemob

On the heels of Palin’s ‘Death panels’, we now have Jon Voight with this

“There’s a real question at stake now. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country?” Mr. Voight tells Inside the Beltway.

Voight continues to explain himself by saying…

“We are witnessing a slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms. We are becoming a socialist nation, and whoever can’t see this is probably hoping it isn’t true. If we permit Mr. Obama to take over all our industries, if we permit him to raise our taxes to support unconstitutional causes, then we will be in default…

In my lifetime, I have not heard the talk I have heard in the past few years. Since 2006, I’ve heard increasing rumblings of States reclaiming their 10th Amendment rights and in some cases even talk of secession. The presence of armed citizens at town halls through-out the country is something I thought I would never see.

“The real truth is that the Obama administration is professional at bullying, as we have witnessed with ACORN at work during the presidential campaign. It seems to me they are sending down their bullies to create fist fights among average American citizens who don’t want a government-run health care plan forced upon them,” Mr. Voight says. “So I ask again. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country?”

Already the screams of racism are being heard from the left, and of course others point the finger towards those of us on the right who don’t see the constitution as ancient history or obsolete. The Other McCain is also right in that the blame is not shared by Obama alone.

Every Republican who voted for the Orwellian-named USA Patriot Act, every Republican who voted for No Child Left Behind and Medicare prescription drugs — every Republican, in other words, who abandoned the limited-government principles of Reagan — is at fault for having given the Left this opportunity.

But this is not some fringe opposition movement as some in the media wish people to believe. It is grassroots and becoming stronger every day. Even the Left is admitting that it is losing control of the ‘new media’ to the constitutional conservative movement. Through blogs, Facebook and Twitter networking, conservatives are linking up, organizing by simple hash groups, and mobilizing into action sometimes within minutes of the call going out. What is even worse, their numbers are growing every day as more-and-more Americans come to understand what is happening to their country.

I hope Voight is wrong. However, when the government starts calling the governed the enemy and ‘un-American’, dispatching thugs to beat intimidate them into submission, then the avenues of recourse become somewhat constrained.

  • I am glad to see those of us on the right finally doing something besides sitting in the house and complaining. The left has been doing this for 50 or 60 years and we are just learning how it works. Voight is dead on with the socialist comments. If it is “like” socialism then it is socialist. What would they have us call it? I guess it should be progressivism since they have changed their moniker to progressives. If it looks like shit and it smells like shit then it probably is shit.
