Normally BCR handles between 700 and 800 unique visitors per day (excluding bots). Due to Memphis being at the heart of Monday’s terrorist attack in Little Rock, our numbers have picked up for this week. But the response to today’s post on the Muslim Society of Memphis has left me breathless. Just goes to show you what a link at Michelle Malkin’s place can do for traffic. Thanks for the link-over Michelle and all of those who visited us today and made the hard work mean something.
As I said on Twitter, you as a citizen-journalist are doing the work that your local media are … shirking? Aren’t being assigned to do? Can’t afford to do?
I don’t know the financial health of your local media.
Before anybody starts yelling about the @#$% liiiiibrul media — forget the political slant, you can’t do in-depth reporting without enough reporters on staff. If your local papers/TV are like those in my area, staffing is down more than 60% from 2001.

You are correct Liz and thanks. Our local media is cutting back as well. The channel 3 reporter and I have compared notes, but since the report he did on Tuesday, nothing.
