The One Finally Speaks
I would ask readers to recall the One’s comments on the Tiller murder…
“I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.”
Now, almost three days later, the One issues a statement on the Little Rock terrorist attack…
“I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.” – KATV
In the Tiller case, it was a “heinous” act of violence, but in Little Rock it was a “senseless” act of violence. In the Tiller case, he was “shocked and outraged“, but he was only “deeply saddened” by the gunning down of two American soldiers on American soil. Well, he better get outraged pretty quick about it, because I am.
This story is not over. I hopefully will be able to write a summary within the next few days of my local investigation. The Masjid As-Salam mosque is generating some leads. For example, I have found this statement made by another American Muslim connected with the mosque.
“Unlike other places, I feel we have our own set of unique struggles. I mean, this is the country that started a war with Muslims, justly or unjustly (everyone has their opinion).”
This individual has a rather lengthy arrest record and history of violence. Currently I am tracing his associations with others in the area, but no connection with Bledsoe has been found. Bledsoe seems to have been arrested in Knoxville in 2004 on drug and weapons charges. For some reason, those charges were dropped.
KNOXVILLE – A Muslim convert who allegedly shot two soldiers outside a U.S. Army recruiting center in Little Rock, Ark., was arrested in Knoxville in 2004 after he was busted with an ounce of marijuana and a cache of high-powered firearms that he planned to sell.
Although simply possessing one of the weapons – a sawed-off shotgun – is a felony offense, Abdulhakim Muhammad escaped without a criminal record, court documents show.
Libertarian Republican has a look at the Muslim community in the Nashville area which may have had an influence on Bledsoe. Court records in Davidson County definitely place Bledsoe there in 2006.
Sorry Obama, your statement has been “weighed and found wanting”.
