Motorhome Diaries Update

To follow up on the Motorhome Diaries post, the guys were bailed out of jail and continued on their way yesterday after getting their RV out of the impound. They did do an online interview which folks can download or stream at this link from Free Talk Live. It is an interesting story which seems to be supported by what little photographic evidence there is. It seems like the original officer who pulled them over was willing to let them go, but back-up officers seemed to be looking for trouble. Two very serious issues.

1) There seems to be no probable cause for the stop.

2) They refused to give consent for a vehicle search, but a canine unit ‘detected’, so the police did the search anyway. Of course there were no drugs to be found.

I will track this story because all indications are that these gents had their rights violated all over the place. The first and most critical is the lack of probable cause for the initial stop. But the police were obviously looking for something.
