Talk about being a pompous ass…
For All Of You “Conservatives” That Skipped The Last Election Or Voted, ….. …for somebody else, like the LP candidate, because there isn’t a dimes worth a difference between the two parties, this is why you should have held your nose and still voted Republican. I swear, stupid “conservatives” get on my nerves more than leftists. The sorry Republican President at least gave us Alito and Roberts. Who do you think this ACLU commie is going to appoint? Geez! Once again, let me say. I fear for this country!
In other words, if someone actually believes in something, they should put it aside to vote for “the lesser of two evils”. I am one of those “stupid conservatives” who came very close to not voting. I know many more “stupid conservatives” who simply saw NO difference between John McCain and Obama. I would have voted 3rd Party except Sarah Palin joined the ticket and I had someone to vote for. Others however could not get past the guy on the top of the ticket and stayed home.
The only people to blame for Obama winning are Republicans who forgot what being a Republican was all about and voted John McCain as the Republican nominee. They are the same folks who lied to us in 2006. No, don’t blame people who wish to vote for someone or something they believe in. Next time, give them something to vote for.

I agree, Glen. I’ve had to hold nose and vote for poor candidates: George Bush I, II, and that whiny bitch John McCain. Even with their faults, they stood head and shoulders above the lefties who ran against them.
That said, I’m glad this schism is ripping apart the Republicans. Will we get a third party? Or will Republicans oust the small floating middle-to-left turds like Specter and those two lobsterpot bimbos from Maine? Either way, I’m thinking we are going to be driven so far to the left by our current government that eventually real Americans (those who slipped up and voted for Obama) (even those confuzzled sorts, like those BCR linkers above) will eventually and massively vote against this far-Left pendulum swing. Will we have any vestige left of what we’ve had, of our up-to-now right-leaning non-socialist country? Maybe not. Maybe what’s Left will not be worth fighting for, anymore.
Stick a fork in her; she’s done.
(Oh, and Mickey, name one of the candidates you voted for whom I might recognize as not being my garbageman.. .)
Lets see, they say keep voting republicans in, no matter how bad they are, to keep the democrats out.
Where is the change in that?
INSANE – doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results..
the next comment down is:
(even those confuzzled sorts, like those BCR linkers above) will eventually and massively vote against this far-Left pendulum swing.
And this is of course why they lost the Congress and the Presidency.
Your garbageman would do a better job than the bozo’s we have now…
You’re right BCR about the pompous ass part. I very much regret using that language. Sometimes it is better to save something and then come back and post it later. Everybody has the right to vote however they want to.
I agree with you that Republicans are to blame for their own demise and that McCain was a disgraceful nominee. However, Obama is the most far left President we have ever had. Beside Obama, Clinton looks like a right winger. Just think about his judicial philosophy for a second. As much as Bush lacked conservatism, at least he did the right thing in judicial appointments. If McCain failed in this area, like Bush 41 did in appointing Souter, surely he would not appoint anything like the commie that Obama is about to appoint. Judicial appointments are the ONLY reason to vote Republican, in my opinion. This appointee of Obama’s will shape the next thirty years possibly.
Never regret venting Glen, that is what we do here. However, I would point out something that seems to escape people. Just about everyone who posts here would give Sarah Palin a very fair shot should she run in 2012. Had she been on the top of the ticket in 2008, and McCain on the bottom, we would not be having this conversation.
I happen to agree with you somewhat. I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket because the alternative was unacceptable to me. However, I completely understand those who stayed home or voted 3rd Party (I almost did myself). People have got to start deciding what they believe and standing up for something. How does that country song go?
“They say if you don’t believe in something,
Then you’re gonna fall for anything.”
To be honest with you, it was the hardest nose holding I have ever had to do in a polling booth. TARP, and the AIG bailouts did it for me. I was disappointed with the GOP, as far as spending is concerned, but I wasn’t disenchanted. The last six months of the Bush Presidency left me sick though. I believe that if McCain had voted against and took a stand against TARP, he would be President today. Maverick my ass!
Do you agree that things would have been different if our candidate had taken a stand against TARP?
Oh yes, we have written about that here at BCR. He gained strength with adding Palin, but then when he led the charge to D.C. after the House rejected TARP to “lead the charge” for it in the Senate, his polling dropped back off and so did any momentum gained with Palin. Had he led the charge against it, he would most likely be President today.
