The Cracker is promoting a poll done for WMC-TV…
In a race between Congressman Steve Cohen and Mayor Willie Herenton, who would you vote for for Congress?
1. Steve Cohen – 65%
2. Herenton – 14%
3. Undecided – 20%How would you rate Congressman Steve Cohen’s job performance?
84% said excellent or good.
This information is due to be published in the Commercial Appeal tomorrow morning and was reported during the 10 PM (CDT) news broadcast on WMC-TV Channel 5 in Memphis.
This is exciting for the Cracker since he is of course the Left Wing Cracker and Steve Cohen is his hero. Also, Cohen did fair well against Ms. Tinker last year, so race no longer seems to be the deciding factor in District 9. However, Thaddeus Matthews is having none of this.
The political bullshit has already started with what may be the greatest political battle of all time in Shelby County with Memphis mayor Willie Herenton declaring that he plans to run against Congressman Steve Cohen to represent the 9th Congressional district in the poll that WMC TV has had conducted by Yacoubian Research.
There are nearly 300,000 registered voters in the 9th congressional district and Yacoubian states that out of 370 persons polled Cohen would carry 65% of the vote,What about the other 299,630 voters? The plan by some in Memphis politics has already started by feeding this poll bullshit to set the stage and mindset that Cohen can’t be defeated by Herenton. Polls can say whatever you want them to say and the poll does not factor in many points concerning the race.
Of course, Matthews was Herenton’s mortal enemy until Herenton funneled some campaign funds Matthews way in the 2007 election. So now, Herenton has the best racist voice that money can buy to stir up the pot for him.
I suspect the WMC polling is close. Cohen has done everything but paint his face black to suck up to the Black Churches and that is where the race will be decided. He is lock solid in the gay/looney core of the city, so I suspect Cohen will survive any challenge by Herenton. Of course the Republican’s will need to put up a lamb for the slaughter in 2010, and I suspect I might give it a go myself if no one else does. The 10 or so Republicans in District 9 need someone to vote for next year.

Maybe Jim will run and make the vote split 3 ways, and WIN!!!!!
Now that right there would be as funny as I dunno what…
Darn, we could stack the deck
Jimbo on one side of the ticket and yours truly on the other. Man, that would be fun!
Y’all Do It!
How many conservative Dems are there in Memphis? 3?
Cohen used the black community in his last election to campaign for him in return he said he would take their issues to Obama. He lost his vigor once he was elected.
