I have made my venture into the conspiracy theory realm and in doing so, I’ve learned a few things about misdirection. On 9/11 America was attacked by fundamental Islamic terrorist types, but among some, conspiracy theories came to life to implicate our own government. For some reason, in the case of the Pentagon attack, the government released information which was altered or otherwise suspect which fueled such theories. Why? By fueling extreme conspiracy theories, they divert attention away from whatever it is they wish to conceal. Anyone pointing out the real “conspiracy” then gets dumped into the loony bin with the other more radical notions. It is known as a counter-intelligence operation.
Now Glenn Beck has joined the fray in regards to the FEMA camp “conspiracy” theory.

Glenn has set out to prove that the FEMA camps don’t exist, enlisting the help of Popular Mechanics. Of course the Screw Loose Change site has picked up on this and is running with it. Spend a few minutes at the SLC site and you’ll find me listed as a source of information for “debunking” some of the conspiracy theories. I find it interesting that such a heavy-hitter as Glen would at this time be coming out to “debunk” this particular “conspiracy” theory. I agree that most of what has been misidentified as FEMA “camps” has been legitimate staging areas for natural disaster activities (especially in the southeast). But that is no longer true, and it is NO conspiracy, but fact.
I’m not a fan of Prison Planet, but they do have an opinion on the subject and posted the news report below in rebuttal.

I already did a post on this awhile back. The National Emergency Centers Establishment Act (H.R. 645) is currently making its way through Congress to create the very camps that Glen is spending so much effort in “debunking”.
SEC. 2. ESTABLISHMENT OF NATIONAL EMERGENCY CENTERS.
(a) In General- In accordance with the requirements of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall establish not fewer than 6 national emergency centers on military installations.
(b) Purpose of National Emergency Centers- The purpose of a national emergency center shall be to use existing infrastructure–
(1) to provide temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster;
(2) to provide centralized locations for the purposes of training and ensuring the coordination of Federal, State, and local first responders;
(3) to provide centralized locations to improve the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of government, private, and not-for-profit entities and faith-based organizations; and
(4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.
Now we can debate all night long what these camps will be ultimately used for, but the fact remains that they are no “conspiracy”, but a real-life legislative action in Congress right now. So why the counter-intelligence efforts now, and why is Glenn being their conduit?
