Loading ...Well, you non-smokers don’t give a crap about this because it does not affect you in the least (or so you think). I learned that effective this past Monday that my brand of smokes was going up 80 cents a pack! Why? To pay for Obama’s CHIPS initiative, so we smokers get to foot the first part of the bill for the USA to USSA conversion.
That’s okay, your turn will be next. Smokers are going to smoke. That extra 80 cents will not be spent on something else, so you who have a job making that something else will no longer have a customer and consequently will be losing your job somewhere down the line. People forget how this economy works.
I really do hate this for you smokers. The one thing that kills more people than anything does not get the bad wrap that cigarettes and guns do and that is booze. Drunk driving and alcohol abuse cost this country more than both of the others combined. Also I am sick of the government telling people they can or cannot smoke. If I do not want to go to a restaurant that allows smoking then that is my choice. I do not need some criminal in an elected office to tell me that. All of this should be left up to business owners as well as their patrons.
