People Do Not Really Want “Change” And I Doubt They Ever Will

This is not a hit on Obama and his “Change” during the 2008 Presidential Campaign, but a slap to the face of people in general. I am watching a documentary on the General Motors EV1 and how it was squashed. I am not here to write about the EV1 or that fiasco, but it does fit in with “change.”

While watching the EV1 documentary I see the NAFTA, 2nd Amendment, illegal immigration and every other beast we fight in operation. I know this happens and has happened for decades, but knowing and then really seeing are way different. People place the blame on Democrats, Republicans, big business, big oil and whoever else they can name when they are not the ones to place the ownership of these problems.

The American public owns 100% of the blame for the problems of this nation. The left and right are too busy fighting each other and do not see what the real problems are and who orchestrates them. I am as guilty as anyone. Just read some of my posts. I get as lost in the tangents as everybody else, but I do see my faults. We have hate crimes, racism, religious intolerance and unemployment to draw our attention away from the real problem. The real problem is as simple as those we have elected to public office.

We are duped, as voters, into thinking there is a difference in those we have elected. Why is it the same problems persist from our Republican House and Senate now that we have a Democrat controlled House and Senate? We elected a President just because he was not associated with Bush and yet Bush policies remain in place. Bush was elected because we were tired of Clinton and his policies yet Bush kept the Clinton policies throughout his reign. The circumstances around Bush’s election play into this as well. How much uproar was there from Clinton’s NAFTA and then Bush pushed through CAFTA? Why did they perpetuate these trade agreements with 90% or greater of the voting public being against them? They are all the same and that is why!

Anyone could draw the same conclusions as I do if you just take a few minutes to look into it. Our elected officials no longer represent those that elected them to office. We continue to put the same ones in office each election day and we expect change. Even if the names change their stance remains the same. Look at the “new” names that are being elected to office today.“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” The Who said “we won’t get fooled again” and yet we continue to fooled time and time again.

Rep. Steve Cohen meets with the Doctors. #tcot

Filed under: Congress, General, Illegal Immigration, Jim, Right to Life, TN 9th District, USSA— Jim Tomasik at 11:15 am on Friday, August 28, 2009

It was a behind closed doors private type affair earlier this week at the University of Memphis.

I had a source inside.

Here are the notes my friend took during the meeting:

There are About 150 present, more doctors than managers.

Cohen urged the attendees to Do it for [Ted] Kennedy, indicated that everyone has a moral obligation toward people for healthcare, socialism. I wanted to boo but resisted.

Yeah, that probably would have ended his note taking.

Cohen just said that his town hall had some people who had legitimate questions on both sides of issue and a lot of people who had been listening to talk radio.

I suppose he forgot to mention that some had been watching MSNBC as well.

Denied the death panels and benefits for illegals and said he would not take any questions on those subjects.

OK, Steve.

It doesn’t use the term “Death Panel” but it DOES use very similar language as the Oregon Health Care provision that denies life saving care to people they feel are not worth saving.

It may not say “Hey, ya’ll illegal immigrants, come get your FREE HEALTH CARE. The problem is, just as it is with abortion, the bills do not explicitly EXCLUDE them and to prove he is trying to deceive his audience, the number “47 Million uninsured” that the liberals keep using INCLUDES them. So they are using the “Lets get what we want done by what we don’t do.” plan.

He wants to cut advertising of drug companies.

OK, I’m sure there is a good reason for this, right?

He says that any raised taxes would only be on upper income people (I’ll note here that this room is full of those particular individuals).

Maybe those who agree think it is patriotic like Vice-President Biden alleges.

He just lied about abortion not being funded through the plan.

I disagree with my friend on this one. Just see the illegal immigrant logic above.

He just said “Congress will not be exempt from the government plan.”

We see Congressman Steve and other elected liberals trying to side step this question. The question he refuses to answer is: “Will you VOLUNTARILY put yourself on the public option?”

Of course not, Congressman Steve!  Private companies will find it easier to dump the employees on the “public option” so they can compete with the other companies that have already done that. The US Congress does not compete with any other congress so they surely will not dump themselves on the public option. It would be like Congress not giving themselves raises every chance they get. They could chose to not give themselves raises but they won’t!

He just returned from Africa and said that Memphis was headed toward same poverty if government doesn’t act. [Ummm, OK!]

Should I put on my special glasses for that one?

Doctor asking questions and him giving answers:

Now this will be fun.

Why not tort reform?

Cited 10th amendment for US government staying out of tort reform.

Why is the 10Th Amendment suddenly a big concern to this guy?

First Question: The cost of this plan is to be borne by doctors, why are we the bad guys?

Cohen said doctors will be paid more and showed definite signs that the idea is to attack the insurance companies as the bad guys.

Paid MORE? Congressman Steve has some explaining to do on this one! This whole thing is supposed to save money by reducing healthcare costs, remember? What government plan has ever increased the amount doctors are paid?

Won’t this plan hurt manufacturing?

Would not answer and went straight to the next question.

This is what silence sounds like.

Pre-existing reform??
Plan gets rid of pre-existing and also promotes Community Center care.

And as he said in the town hall meeting. He should do this to “…form a more perfect union.”

If  Medicare is going bankrupt, why should we trust governmentt to put together a public plan?

Would not answer and went on to next question.

This is one question that must be answered!

Next question: “Will public option destroy commercial insurance?”

Cohen said that wouldn’t happen.

Congressman Steve thinks we are blind:

Step ONE:

Step TWO:

Bill will lead to government monitoring our lives [concerning things like] eating habits?

Cohen said there is nothing in the bill like that but there is something like that in the Farm Bill.

Well, did he try to get that taken out of the Farm Bill before he voted for it? No. This takes us down ole Memory Lane. Remember back in the day. Way back when 309 billion dollars for the Farm/Welfare Bill was a lot of money? Early last year…

Closed saying he’s look into tort reform and Arissa???

We will not be holding our breath Steve, You are lying again.

I got the impression from reactions in the room that probably only about 25% of docs in the room understand bigger picture that bill has to be killed completely because it is socialized medicine. They seemed to be overly concerned with how it would affect eact of them personally more than how it would affect the nation as a whole.

Such is the USSA we now live in.

No Death Panels, huh?

Filed under: Jim, Right to Life, TN 9th District— Jim Tomasik at 9:58 am on Thursday, August 20, 2009

Do you think the folks in Oregon called their death panel a “Death Panel” when they were talking the people of Oregon into supporting a state run health care system?

I want to know what will prevent this from happening under the proposed federal plan.

Can we get Steve Cohen to Run For Mayor Of Memphis Too?

Willies BACK!

Lets just see how goofy this can get.

I’ve got a better idea. Why don’t we all run for Mayor of Memphis.

Let me take slight issue with LeftWingCracker’s note that Randy Wade made them all check in with the Sheriff’s Deputies on hand.

Allowing all proper respect towards Randy Wade, the fact of the matter is that Mr. Wade is in no position (that I am aware) to make CCP holders do anything in regards to checking in with anyone. I think I remember Mr. Wade telling me a few weeks ago that he is an ex-deputy along with being an ex-Vietnam veteran. So I’m pretty sure he is now just a hired helper to Congressman Cohen who does not have that authority.

This may be why some carrying CCP holders that I saw ignored his request.

After seeing many of the videos of union thugs actually assaulting people, one would have to be a complete idiot to even ask why so many people brought their guns to a town hall meeting in one of the most dangerous cities in the country.

In the comments of one of his liberal buddies one fool actually asked who it was that would physically assault Congressman Blackburn at her event earlier this week.

I wish I could make it.

Who’s going to throw the pie in my stead?
If you can get her the way we got Bil Kristol it’ll be a hoot.

Duh Cracker never made mention to this asshole that maliciously hitting someone with anything like that is a crime. If one person is willing to do that, what might the next liberal loon be willing to do?

This act of stupidity was a player in turning a small ‘FaceBook-get-together’ intended for maximum of 30 Blackburn supporters into a 230 person surge of support. It was large enough that she had to move it to the parking lot. Rany Wade’s counterpart in Blackburn’s Bartlett office, Mr. Scott Golden, was grinning ear to ear. Who could blame him.

Blackburn also had the free benefit of the fact that one of the Mid South Tea Party folks had a PA system in his vehicle to accommodate the parking lot situation. I guess he knew carrying that thing around with him 24/7 would pay off sooner or later. Go Dave!

I personally found myself in a rather awkward situation defending my Congresswoman’s right to be there. To say the least, I am absolutely NOT a fan of hers. I do think she has the right, just like Cohen, to assemble without fear of being assaulted. People who come to speak their mind in opposition is fine. Some folks did just that. I actually agreed with some of the thoughts they conveyed.

With all of that being said, let’s get back to Saturday morning.

I would like to add these thoughts:

Hats go off to Cohen for having the brains to know not to close the doors.
Hats go off to Cohen for having the brains not to stage a fake Town Hall meeting.
Hats go off to Cohen for having the brains not to have union thugs show up in union shirts. That was what we were looking to find. They would have been vastly outnumbered and most probably outgunned.

Unfortunately, I would guess that it is just a matter of time before one of the union thugs get themselves shot.

“When push comes to shove…”

Ron Paul Supports Obama’s Agenda More Than Marsha Blackburn

Filed under: BCR, BCR Editorial, Congress, TN 9th District, Tennessee— BCR at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2009

CQ Politics has a very interesting interactive tool to examine how each member of Congress and Senate have voted this year which has been VERY enlightening.

For example, I was shocked that Ron Paul has voted for Obama stuff 15% of the time and the with the Republicans 87%. While Marsha Blackburn has only voted 12% of the time with Obama and with the Republicans 99% of the time! Our other two Congressman, Cohen voted with Obama 92% and Tanner 77%.

On the Senate side is the real shocker for me. Bob Corker has voted with the President 68% and Alexander 65% of the time! The exception it seems is during high profile votes when Corker does the right thing and Alexander goes kinda iffy.

It seems that public pressure makes the difference with Corker, and sometimes with Alexander. Tanner also seems to respond to public pressure. Cohen is a lost cause. So with the upcoming cap-and-trade and health care take-over, people had better get vocal – and quick!

Go Marsha!

Filed under: Fair Tax, General, Jim, Memphis, TN 9th District, Taxes, Tea Party, Tennessee— Jim Tomasik at 4:34 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2009

There are two GREAT efforts making way for Memphis next week!

The Memphis Tea Party will have an event on July 2nd at Audoban Park.

On The 4th of July, The Mid South Tea Party will hold an event at, Shelby Farms’ Patriot Lake

Both events will be family friendly.  I think that both have fun stuff for the kids to do while the big folks gripe about socialism gone wild over there in Washington DC.   Each event is lead by good people who wish to influence the direction of our country and have some fun while doing it.

Mark Skoda runs the Memphis Tea Party Event and has openly admitted that he is a Republican.  (I forgive him!) Mark seems to be a very organized person who takes a command and control approach to things.  Stephanie Brown has a lighter reign on the Mid-South Tea Party through her efforts promoting Reform Politix.  Reform Politix is her baby and The Mid South Tea Party kinda grew out of that idea.

I support both efforts and regret that I have not been able to commit more time helping Mr. Skoda but it does appear that he has everything well in hand.  He has made good use of his resources and that is certainly to his credit.   I have been much more involved with the Mid South Tea Party event and with FairTax/tax reform things in DC and Columbia Missouri.   Also, I get a much more independent ‘vibe’ coming from the Mid SouthTea Party.  There are a few conservative Democrats, Republicans, Independants and a guy who seems to like the Constitution Party.

And yes Mickey, I hope to be at both of these events supporting FairTaxand FairTax Nation!

The above chart should be quite conclusive to anyone who understands data trends and normality. I would suggest that readers go to the source link for details, but bottom-line, this chart validates everything that yours truly has been telling you for several years now. It is not junk science, just a simple presentation of reality in regards to climate change. The doom-sayers (such as Al Gore) have been pushing models based on a sinusoidal trend which has now peaked. In other words, they have been feeding you garbage.

However, they have scared enough of you to pass the biggest tax increase in recent history through the House of Representatives today with once again, MOST of your elected representatives not having even read the final version of the American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454). This bill could very well be the death nail of the American economy, it is that serious.

I am not going to debate the merits or regurgitate the same old arguments. There is plenty of that in the links above for those interested. Locally, Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R- 7th TN) and Congressman John Tanner (D- 8th TN) voted against it. Kudos to Congressman Tanner for bucking the pressure and refusing to sign up. However, as expected, Congressman Steve Cohen (D- 9th TN) kissed Nancy Pelosi andthe One’s behind and voted for it.

How does such stupid legislation get through Congress based on lies? And why do we allow it to happen? The Republican Party sent out an email announcing the July 2nd TEA Party in Memphis, but completely dismissed and ignored the July 4th main event, the Mid-South TEA Party. Looks like the local effort has sold out to the Republicans like the Nashville guys did. And for what purpose? To get together and cry about taxes while sipping tea and cooking hot dogs. Meanwhile, the young people of Iran remind us what true political courage is all about as their blood stains the street gutters.

Suwanee, GA. – The Atlanta Tea Party was forced to cancel it’s Independence Day celebrationin Gwinnett, after losing it’s location due to the objection of Gwinnett Place Mall (a Simon company.) The Tea Party had been scheduled to take place in the parking lot of the old Macy’s building at Gwinnett Place since March.

“It is unfortunate the event had to be canceled,” said Julianne Thompson, event co-organizer. She continued, “The old Macy’s building is on private property, and not owned by Simon Malls, however the mall manager asked the property owner and I to come in the office on Thursday of this week, and told us Simon does not want political events on it’s property. They were also concerned about the fact we were using the term “protest.” Although the event was on private property, the mall was able to assert authority on the matter due to recipricol property easement agreements.”

Now why where they forced to cancel? Because some One supporter who owns the property told them they could not. Damn it, there is a State Capitol and other government complexes which the taxpayer paid for so why not march on the them instead? What a bunch of spoiled lazy cowards we have become! My generation shut this country down during the Civil Rights and Vietnam War era, but now all we can do is get together and listen to complaining speeches and only if we have our lawn chairs handy and someone giving us permission to do so.

We are lost. We deserve to lose our Liberty. Samuel Adams and John Hancock are spitting on your sorry ass execution of civil ‘disobedience’. They did not sip the tea, they threw it in the Boston Harbor you idiots! Are there no Patriots left?

According to ILNA, Tehran’s temporary Friday prayer leader said, “I ask the Judiciary to deal firmly and mercilessly with the heads of the riot, whose heads are in the U.S. and Israel’s stable, so that it would be a good lesson for all.” – CNN

Now, Adams and Hancock would have been proud of the Iranian’s protest! The British labeled them in a similar manner and chased them across the country-side until the Minutemen intervened in Lexington.

Herenton v. Cohen 2010

Filed under: BCR, Congress, Congress2010, Memphis, TN 9th District— BCR at 9:34 pm on Thursday, June 11, 2009

Well, it is official, we have a horse-race….

The Thrilla in Manila won’t have anything on next year’s TN-09 race, as Mayor Herenton made it official today by filing his paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run for the 9th District seat held by Steve Cohen.

I had thought he was bluffing in order to push Rep. Cohen into speeding up the process of selecting a new US Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. However, I’m sure when he heard about the new alliance between old adversaries Cohen and Harold Ford Sr., he decided that it was damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. – LWC

This is going to be a fun race to watch. Steve Cohen has been pandering the black community for 3 years now and Willie Herentonis an old-school street-fighting politician who will bring an army to the fight. Throw Harold Ford, Sr. into the mix and it is going to be a wonderful season for Tennessee bloggers.

CAN THE “OLD NEGRO BRIGADE” DEFEAT HERENTON?
