When I saw the headlines touting Obama’s approval rating or what should be called a disapproval rating, I have to admit I was surprised. I figured with the death of Obamacare, following the election of Brown in Massachusetts, things would improve for Obama. Of course any increase in his approval rating would not be from anything Obama has done, but what he had failed to do. That thought process may seem a touch foolish, but there is a some logic behind it.
People in this country seem to forget things easily, other than when I do something and then they keep up with it for millennia. They forgive easily enough as well, unless again, it is me. Thinking of our national forgive and forget policy I had figured since Brown was elected, several other races could possibly go the “right” direction and Obama is begging the Republicans to air out their issues in a “sit-down” with him, everything was improving for Obama. Since technically he did not screw health care up worse than it already was and he has not accomplished anything else that was on his list that would destroy this country where could he go but up? Obviously I was wrong. I do not admit that often, but I will in this case.
The strange thing about Obama’s fall from grace is that the “left” are being as hard on him as the “right.” The disagreements of the two sides with Obama definitely do not have the same origins. The “left” think Obama has become too moderate and not the ultra socialist he claimed to be on the campaign trail. The “right” still do not like him because the “right” still sees him as the same socialist he was during the campaign. Well, maybe we see him as more of a failed socialist and that stings much less.
The only positive that Obama can take from all of this is that Jimmy Carter is still a worse President than Obama has been so far. If Obama were to keep a low profile during the rest of his term and manage not to anger the moderate to right leaning voters then he could continue to be a distant second to Jimmy. My sincerest hope is that we have accepted the death of socialized health care, but if Obama pulled a Lazarus on the issue of health care then it would put him clearly ahead of Carter on the loser list. Someone please stop President Obama before he comes in first in the race for worst. It is embarrassing for us all.
Austin
To be honest with everyone there was no way Obama was going to pull us out of the hole in his first year. I doubt he can even do it in four years. Expecting so much so fast is a little foolish even for one the media thinks of as the messiah. I have not doubt Obama will not succeed in four years because socialism does not work. Until we shrink government and head back to the foundations of this country nothing anyone does will work.
Remember that little meeting they had in Denmark last year? You know, that little thing they did to stop ‘climate change’. If the President can’t even stop God from piling up record snow on his front porch, exactly what does he think he can do about ‘climate change’?

The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama’s race during the 2008 presidential bid.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect.” Obama is the nation’s first African-American president.
“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments,” Reid said in a statement released after the excerpts were reported on the Web site of The Atlantic.http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/09/reid-apolgizes-racial-remarks-obama/
Excuse me, but it seems to me Reid was saying that the American voters could accept Obama because he was light skinned and no Negro dialect. There’s that word Negro again. What happened to African American or just AMERICAN??
The decade 2000-2009 “is very likely to be the warmest on record, warmer than the 1990s, than the 1980s and so on,” Jarraud told a news conference, holding a chart with a temperature curve pointing upward. The second warmest decade was the 1990s.
I guess no one told the Japanese that the “temperature curve“ is, saying it nicely, value-added.
Sensenbrenner wrote that “these bad actors” limited peer-reviewed studies used by the IPCC, which is leading the Copenhagen conference on climate change.
“Their behavior has caused grave damage to the public trust in climate science in general, and to the IPCC, in particular,” Sensenbrenner wrote. “They should not be allowed to do so in the future. I therefore request that you and the co-chairs of each of the three IPCC working groups ensure that none of the individuals involved in these nefarious e-mail exchanges participate as contributors, reviewers, or in any other capacity in the preparation of” the next IPCC report.
Sensenbrenner is just the latest lawmaker to jump into the fray over “Climategate,” a growing scandal over the release of thousands of e-mails written by global-warming scientists that show an effort to manipulate data and prevent publication of opposition research. More than 1,000 e-mails and 2,000 other documents from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in Great Britain were released just weeks ahead of the Copenhagen conference.
Of course Obama is circumventing Congress for these talks and treaties (against the Constitution) by pledging to use the EPA to enforce any agreements he might sign up for (who needs the Senate to ratify any agreement anyways). So, maybe that is why his numbers are tanking. Or maybe it is crap like this…
President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,” according to Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Ms. Rogers reportedly told a gathering of former social secretaries that the Obamas did not intend on putting the Nativity scene on display – a longtime East Room tradition. – Atlas Shrugs
For the first time in history, the Nobel Foundation announced a possible reduction of its prize amount. Due to financial losses the Foundation suffered because of the global crisis, luxurious ceremonies and banquets in Stockholm, 2009 laureates might be the last ones to receive $1.5 million. This year alone, the Nobel Foundation spent $17.5 million for the reception where President Obama is to receive his Nobel Peace Prize.
Of course, he does not have to worry about the indoctrination of our children, that continues with only a few minor snafu’s.
Pencils and notebooks resembling President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign ads have been sold in at least one Columbia school and other public schools, causing the company that distributes the materials to travel around the state yanking the supplies out of machines.
A lot more going on in the world this morning. I’ve added news feeds from across the globe and will be adding more in the days to come, so just hop over and hit the refresh button for the latest and greatest.
Arlington Mayor Russell Wiseman has made the Drudge Report and national headlines with his Facebook comments, but he really did express the sentiments of many American mothers and fathers.
“Ok, so, this is total crap, we sit the kids down to watch ‘The Charlie Brown Christmas Special’ and our muslim president is there, what a load…..try to convince me that wasn’t done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute disertation (sic) about it….w…hen the answer should simply be ‘yes’….” – CA
The man made the comments ‘tongue-in-cheek’, so get over it folks. He made them on his Facebook page, which he should have known would have gotten around to more than just his close circle. That is part of politics. I do the same thing in monitoring elected officials, and often that is how they communicate to a larger audience (remember Sarah Palin’s ‘death panels’?). Yet I bet he did not expect to gain national attention.
Obama uses religion to get what he wants. He does not attend Church, and when he did it was a radical anti-American preacher in the pulpit. He did come from a Muslim background, and as far as we know, he is one privately. He claims to be a Christian, but so did Adolph Hitler. Personally, I don’t think he has a personal faith, but that is just my opinion.
I heard on the radio this morning talk about his comments being racist, How the heck are they racist?!?! And why is a small town Tennessee mayor’s comments making national headlines?
However, the bigger question is what idiot scheduled the One to speak during Charlie Brown? The only thing worse would have been if he preempted Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer!
Update (December 8, 2009):
Wiseman statement…
Regarding all of the reports about my recent Facebook remarks, I want to take this opportunity to say how much I regret that I offended anyone with my poor attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor amongst friends. While my comments were certainly blown way out of proportion, I do recognize that I allowed things to go too far.
As you might have guessed, I don’t really care for President Obama or his policies. That being said, I understand how my comments might have been interpreted by people who don’t know me and who have no reason to give me the benefit of the doubt. When defenders of President Obama started chiming in on the Facebook comment thread, I’m afraid I let my frustrations and my sarcastic and joking nature get the best of me, and so I egged and goaded them on within the confines of what I considered at the time to be a semi-private conversation among friends. – Memphis Flyer

When President Barack Obama launches a multicity tour Friday to take Main Street’s temperature, he will likely get a cool reception from business leaders and workers here who say he hasn’t delivered. – FOX News
Look for the November jobless numbers to be bad. With double digits for November, and the One on the trail talking jobs, I predict he already knows the report will be very bad. Merry Christmas.
Update:
Can I call it or what? The numbers came out double-digit again today (10%).
A U.S. Army cadet reads a book entitled “Kill Bin Laden” as he waits with other cadets for U.S. President Barack Obama to deliver an address on U.S. policy and the war in Afghanistan at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York December 1, 2009. – Reuters
This is not a hit on Obama and his “Change” during the 2008 Presidential Campaign, but a slap to the face of people in general. I am watching a documentary on the General Motors EV1 and how it was squashed. I am not here to write about the EV1 or that fiasco, but it does fit in with “change.”
While watching the EV1 documentary I see the NAFTA, 2nd Amendment, illegal immigration and every other beast we fight in operation. I know this happens and has happened for decades, but knowing and then really seeing are way different. People place the blame on Democrats, Republicans, big business, big oil and whoever else they can name when they are not the ones to place the ownership of these problems.
The American public owns 100% of the blame for the problems of this nation. The left and right are too busy fighting each other and do not see what the real problems are and who orchestrates them. I am as guilty as anyone. Just read some of my posts. I get as lost in the tangents as everybody else, but I do see my faults. We have hate crimes, racism, religious intolerance and unemployment to draw our attention away from the real problem. The real problem is as simple as those we have elected to public office.
We are duped, as voters, into thinking there is a difference in those we have elected. Why is it the same problems persist from our Republican House and Senate now that we have a Democrat controlled House and Senate? We elected a President just because he was not associated with Bush and yet Bush policies remain in place. Bush was elected because we were tired of Clinton and his policies yet Bush kept the Clinton policies throughout his reign. The circumstances around Bush’s election play into this as well. How much uproar was there from Clinton’s NAFTA and then Bush pushed through CAFTA? Why did they perpetuate these trade agreements with 90% or greater of the voting public being against them? They are all the same and that is why!
Anyone could draw the same conclusions as I do if you just take a few minutes to look into it. Our elected officials no longer represent those that elected them to office. We continue to put the same ones in office each election day and we expect change. Even if the names change their stance remains the same. Look at the “new” names that are being elected to office today.“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.”The Who said “we won’t get fooled again” and yet we continue to fooled time and time again.

Yes that was impressed and not depressed by Obama in the title. I have to give credit where credit is due and Obama deserves a little credit for this one. When asked “why do people hate you” by fourth-grader, Tyren Scott, Obama gave an answer that I was not expecting. Instead of some hate filled rant aimed at the right he answered the question without malice. Obama’s explanation was one that I could live with and actually was quite true.
Everyone knows that they want to back a winner. You want your side to be right and the other side to be wrong. This works for sports, beauty pageants, stocks, vehicles, politics and just about anything else in this world. People do not naturally want to lose. I am saying as a whole and not individuals. When we do lose we spend out time pointing out the negatives of the winning side so as to make us feel better. In the case of Obama there is usually plenty to help make us feel better since he has done so poorly as President. It must be said that this one instance was a win for Barack Obama. I do not like his politics, but if for only this one time he does have my respect. Do not be so silly as to to think I would ever quit writing negative things about Obama. I said just this one time.
